BANGALORE: It was a fall, flurry and breach at the KSCA stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Over-eager fans scaled the stadium's compound wall and its grill to get a glimpse of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in action at the nets at National Cricket Academy.
The fans' precarious perch gave way under their weight and sent three of them plunging 10 feet to the ground. One of them sustained a gash near the left ear while the others suffered bruises.
The authorities were in a quandary while coach Greg Chappell rushed towards the injured fans. The players, meanwhile, scurried into the stadium where they later resumed practice.
The incident exposed a breach in the security. Police personnel were immediately deployed. Damage to the wall was attended to at once.
The injured fan, Manjunath, a BPO cab driver, was treated at Bowring Hospital and slunk away without informing the police.
