Thiruvananthapuram: Sabarimala row

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Tuesday ordered a fresh probe by a top police officer into the murky events at Sabarimala.

On the other hand, Kandararu Mohanraru, the disgraced priest, tried to wriggle out of a sex-laced controversy by peddling a new alibi for being in a prostitute's den.

Mohanraru on Monday was stripped off his powers as head priest after the temple management was told of his sex-romps by the police, and after he lodged a false complaint stating he was abducted and taken to a prostitute.

In a volte-face, the priest on Tuesday told police that he was not abducted and that he had gone to the prostitute's flat to collect his maid-servant.

He also said he was forced to pose for a photograph with the naked woman by some people, when he had reached the flat. Mohanraru said: "It's a conspiracy, but I don't know who is behind it."
